hi
my husband and i are new to this site and also to the hobby of keeping fish.
we have had our tank set up for about 6 weeks, everybody is happy...guppies and platties have had heaps of babies and plants are going great, but over the last week or so our sucking cat fish has gotten really really fat and is changing to a sought of yellow colour....should i be worried? i am pretty sure they arnt live bearers although i could be wrong...it is a 90 ltr tank...maybe the two of them have too much food...any help would be greatly appreciated....thank you..brandy

What kind of catfish is this? A pleco (a sucker fish?)? Can you get us a picture, or describe him more?

when we got him the aquarium just said he was a sucking cat fish..he is about 5cm long and he was silver with a dark stripe down his back...he was only a couple of dollars so he is just the run of the mill little fella....with a huge belly

does it look like this?

Sounds more like an sae or cae to me... pics definitely help. I personally haven't seen a pleco with a stripe down it's back, though I could be entirely wrong lol
