Ok so best way to explain the title is to chronicle the events leading up to title...

3pm: Wife leaves work early as the electricity supply company is having nation wide power supply problems and is switching off entire towns every day for 3 to 4 hours at a time...

3:30pm - decides to browse the local newspaper classifieds online (a day before it goes to print) looking for a 2nd hand dining room table - finds no tables but ends up in the pet section where an ad catches her attention "Home wanted for dalmation puppy and his friends - 2 bearded dragons, a chameleon, a budgie and a hamster" - could it be a joke? misprint? So she calls to find out - no joke and no misprint...

4pm to 5pm: Frantically research lizard care...

5:30pm - Arrive at the womans house to view the animals... still no joke and no misprint...

6:30pm - Arrive home with dragons, chameleon, budgie, hamster, cages and food. Couldn't take the dalmation pup as we have 4 dogs already! :)

Heres some photo's of the new additions to the family! :headbang2:

The dragons -
"Thin Lizzy" - suspect it's a female but i'm still busy researching...

"Lemmy" - just coz he looks like the lead singer of Motorhead! lol

No name for the chameleon just yet but working on it! :)

So - fate or blind luck?

How old would those Bearded Dragons be? The one i assume is Thin Lizzy looks WAY too thin. Also housing dragons together is usually advised against. I would recomend the community of http://www.beardeddragon.org/ , They are very helpful and would answer any questions you may have. Specifically on the important beardie related care such as feeding, UVB, temperatures and such. Good luck with your new additions :)

Total score man. GREAT wife!

Total score man. GREAT wife!

Yeah she is and I love her to bits! :)

She's the only woman I know that can go to the shops to buy washing powder and come back with a puppy... and no washing powder! lol

She's the only woman I know that has the guts to confront a neighbour who was abusing a german shepherd puppy and insist that he hand the dog over to ppl better qualified to care for it. He refused then but 2 weeks later after kicking her senseless for pulling his washing off the line and tearing up his newspaper, pitched up at our gate and shouted "do u still want this f.....g dog?"

2 days later we rushed her to the vet with cat flu and it's a miracle she survived. 4 years later and she's the most loving companion I've ever had the privilege of caring for! :)

Nice did the tanks come with them?

Yup! Tanks, food and accessories all included! :)

They were bought for xmas 2006 so that makes them around 16 months old and they've been together in the same tank since then. I agree that Lizzy is too thin and i'm feeding "her" in a seperate area now to see if she'll gain a little weight. I'll be making a bigger home for them as soon as finances permit too. a 36" tank is too small for a 19" dragon!

Thanks for the link - much appreciated and I'll definitely be asking many questions there! :)

Without going into too much detail I know I have inherited somebody else's "problem children" but maybe that's were fate fits in - At least I have the time and patience to do the research and ask the right questions!
