Faunus Ater snail reproduction ???

did a little more research and found this:

http://mkohl1.net/melanops.htm

" Reproduction occurs several times throughout the multi-year life of the snail. Fertilization may occur by males releasing sperm directly into the environment, as mating behaviour has not been observed. Eggs are usually layed in clutches on hard surfaces such as the underside of stones, but may also be scattered on soft substrates, and hatch into tiny snails without going through a larval stage."

More info certainly would be helpful! Desired temps, ph, etc...

I don't really know, but there is a seller on Aquabid who sells these, I'd imagine either him or one of his customers may know something by now. I'll see if I can find his username.

There really isn't much information on them on the web- but I think their life-span is somewhat like that of the nerite- they have very small larvae that need an element of salt-water to turn into adult snails. The adults are very tolerant of a wide range salinity of water.

From what I understand they're a very common species in the wild in their native range and that almost all, if not all the specimens in the hobby are wild caught.

I really don't know- but I believe the above to be true.
