I'm looking for help. My Favia Brain (spelling) has covered itself with brown slime. Whats going on? Is it dying?
While cyanbacteria sometimes has a brown color to it, brown slime algae is often mistaken for it and is much more deadly to a coral. Often times the coral will need to have the diseased portion removed so it doesn't spread.could have more wattage then needed causing algae to take off growing over everything
but i could be off my rocker

lol, you should have seen the looks on my parents' faces when I first told them I had joined a reefer club.
Sounds like a bacteria that is often called brown jelly disease. I'd do some research on it as it is important to act soon if that is what your coral has.
