Favorite Fish and Why?

I have to vote for cichlids and loaches as my favorite fishes, as well.
Of my currently kept fish, my Jack Dempsey would have to be the favorite. My favorite freshwater fish I've ever kept would have to be the old clown loaches that I used to have. Very entertaining fish to watch.

As far as plants are concerned...I like crypts and other low-light plants.

I'm really partial to cherry barbs because of the great colors and personalities they have.

I'm a fan or loaches, but figured I'd be harming nearly any species of loach I put into a 10 gallon tank. (It's all I have right now. After the summer, all of my fish are going into a MUCH larger tank.)

I'd have to say for elegance and mystery its my black ghost knife. 'Spook'
is my star.
The scene stealers are my 2 dojo loaches with there amused looks and playful personalities. They sometimes swim along my female swordtail imitating her (she's huge) almost like they're making fun of her big body.

Then my gourami for kind eyes and gentleness, and they way the female reaches out to touch me through the glass.

And my grumpy clown pleco that swishe his tail in the sand and sends everyone else flying if they come near his algae tab.

And my grumpy betta that has staring contests with me eyeball to eyeball, but I always win because evenutally he starts to flare and he knows I can't do that.
And the cories are like little city people flitting here and there alwaystoo busy to notice anything going on in the tank.

Favorite plant. Anubias

My mickey mouse platies, cause they're so red. And Roxanne, my African Butterfly, cause she swims toward me when I open the hood.

I just luv em all.

What are your favorite freshwater fish you currently have, and why?

So far its my Oscar, its so stupid I like fooling with it with food. I stick a peice of shrimp in the water and watch it swim up to it, I take the shrimp outta the water right before he bites. The fish looks so confused. I keep on doing it until it gives up and I finally let him have it.

My second favorite is my pacu, the thing is so cute yet stupid. It's very skittish and if its startled it will smash its head into the walls, heater, and crap.

Well plants is easy amazon swords....my fish would also agree.

As for my favorite fish it would have to be a tie between my dwarf gourami and one of my rams.
The dwarf because he is so small yet so tough. Today one of my rams tried to chase him away from his turf and almost did it but then the dwarf turned around and chased him away! After the dwarf went back into his turf, at first the ram seemed to think about chasing him out and sort of mock charged him... at the last second he backed off and let him have his space. The dwarf also thinks he is tough when he goes and displays and lip locks my big gouramis....its funny cus he usually wins! The other favorite is this tiny ram who defends his corner aggainst the tetras and other rams (which are twice his size) but does not even bat an eye lash when the angels or rapheal is in the area. He also does his best to look scary when I come sit on the couch and look in at his end... he is a real spunky little guy.

For a 29 maybe one of a few things: a group of cories plus some small schooling fish and a rubber lip or bristlenose; a few yo-yo loaches with a school of tetras, guppies, swordtails or mollies;perhaps add African Dwarf frogs, different types of shrimp; a different idea maybe- a single specimen with a smaller SAC or a few (like,3 or 4 smaller) africans or even a small group of dwarf cichlids.

I would have to say my Blue-Eyed Panaque pleco (Panaque cochliodon), and my Turquoise Severum. Another favorite fish that I used to own would be the Blood Parrot Cichlid :D

Fav fish I own: Cuckoo Synodontis-never see him tho, Boesemani Rainbows are a great fish and I love julidochromis dickfeldi-small cichlid-good breeder and great parents.
Fav fish I don't own: RED TAIL CATFISH (I just don't have a happy home for the 5 foot catfish, yet) great fish
Fav Plants: (just getting into it) I really like Glosso, Bananna plants, and Swords.
