I have a new ten gallon heated tank and I was just wondering what you all think I should keep in it. I am going to cycle it and everything first, but I want to know what good, entertaining fish could fit into a tank this small?

Thanks for your opinions... :dance2:

I'm setting up my 10 gallon with heterandria formosa (and eventually more ottos when I move out my panda cories/or maybe dwarf cories if I can ever find some). They are very small livebearers so you can fit a lot in a 10 gallon. But... hmmm... entertaining? I like mine a great deal although I've only had them a week, but I don't think I'd call them entertaining exactly. They are not swift moving fish like white clouds or anything. But they are very cute and I enjoy watching them.

Very entertaining fish. They are a colony fish and if you put a male and female in there you'll soon have the start of a very nice family group that will hold your interest for quite some time. They don't eat thier young like most fish will do so you will have many different age groups in there once they get going.

They love to dig and will constantly be rearanging the sand you put in there for them.....along with the shells. I have a 20long with 2 colonies going..a larger one, which takes up most of the middle of the tank...and a smaller colony which is off to the side. There's a pile of sand up between them...lol..

Here's a pic of a 10 gallon I had set up with some Multis...before I moved them over to a 20long. Click on the pic for a larger view...

Some people (not me, of course) might suggest a pacu or an oscar or maybe a pair of male bettas.

Being the helpful person I am (and not wanting to incur the wrath of Nursie and Roan) I would suggest 3 otos, 6 white clouds and either a betta or a dwarf gourami.

But, that's just me.

well you can see what ive got in mine (sig), ive added a new amano shrimp but i haven't updated.

personally ive fallen in love with platys! If I had it my way, id have my tank full of them but I dont have the heart to get rid of my other pals :)

i have one red honey gourami and 6 glowlight tetras in my 10 gallon. i'm moving them into my 20 long and adding a few more, then splitting my 10 gallon and adding my 2 male bettas.

Those do look interesting. How hard are they to find? I think one of my local fish stores can special order fish. Are they really expensive?

Thanks everyone for your input!
