Well i suppose it is more of an identification question than anything, So my gf was looking at my tank closely today she noticed a little feathery protusion coming out of a pore in my live rock. Just as soon as she noticed it and tried to point it out to me it sucked back in its hole. We gave it a minute and sure enough it came out. The feathery extensions are marroonish and white and there are two of them on the same rock!!! Is it possible this could be a feather duster (i have no camera sorry.) I haven't bought any new live rock in maybe 6 months so i suppose its a possibillity that they could have came in on that batch. What does everyone think??? I understand that species is a worm so it seems feasible they could have been "lurking" for a few months.

what does everyone think???????

i am also aware this could be a parasite too - kinda the reason i came to you guys to see what ya thought.

kinda seem odd that it might take a good 6 or 7 months for'em to surface or does that sound pretty spot on?

Here's one on a piece of rock I bought a few days ago...

Look closely on your rock, as there may be more. I got very excited when I spotted this one (the biggest), and a few other slightly smaller ones. But upon closer examination, there are perhaps a dozen or so very small ones on this piece of rock.
