Feather Duster 'seeds'

The other day I noticed what looked like light brown tiny seeds in my 10 nano. Now I know these things don't come from nowhere so instead of making assumptions, I just let things be. So, last night I was looking at my feather duster and noticed these seeds coming out of the tube. They were streaming out, not fast but at a constant rate. Some of them were bound together like a string of beads. Well I looked around the tank and sure enough I have several mini feather dusters about a few millimeters in length.

The thing is, they are all on the same piece of rock, so I don't know if they were already there, or if they actually grew from seed.

Any thoughts?
 
Well, feather dusters are actually worms, so whatever these are, they are not seeds. They will spread readily in an aquarium, but I believe the eggs and sperm are broadcast into the water current in a cloud, where they meet, fertilize, then drift around in the water for a while before settling on a surface and building a tube there.

At a guess, you're witnessing it 'relieving' itself.
