feather dusters?

Hi,

Does anyone know how long it takes for a feather duster introduced to a tank to become brave enough to emerge?

I just purchased a small feather duster and 24 hours after introducing it into the tank it still hasn't opened back up. I had it sitting on some rocks at the bottom but moved it to the sand in a not so turbulent area, but still with good flow.

sometimes they loose feathers when stressed and grow new later, he should show up later

if you do it right hell come out within a week ... dont give him to much flow or to much light... and then leave him be... and keep an eye out and make sure the fishes dont bug him

Thanks! I thought for sure he was dead! He's in a dark-ish area with the lowest turbulence the tank has within viewing, so hopefully I'm good there. I also covered up the end of his "body" with a layer of sand so that he wouldn't swirl away. Is that ok?

Yes, that should be fine mate...good luck with it..can you get any nice pictures of the feather duster..i think they are so pretty to look at...

If it's not out by now I wouldn't expect it to come out. I am thinking it's either dead or else extremely shocked. I would check all your water parameters and post them for us , so we can tell you what to do to maybe help get him out.

I got one on a piece of live rock I bought today for my new tank and he came out right away
