ok so theres these plastic horse feeder torughs that are like 100 gallons or something like that . bout 3 feet deep and 5 feet long.they cost like 50 bucks each. i figured i could spend 100 bucks and get 2 make one into a feeder breeder for my dempseys im gonna get that why i know hes getting healthy feeders
and make the other into a mini pond and put some kinda fish in it
ok i know before you say it its unlikely it will freeze over. all winter its been in the 70s here in oklahoma last week it hit the 80s we had a couple cold days but nothing serious enuff to freeze more than 1/8 of an inch at best
what i was thinking was sink the bucket into the ground and build a small filter house next to it use a little 10g tank and make a sump ive got 2 10gs sitting around one has a caking of algea and ones melted twards the top.
im a master landscaper and did it professionally for more than a few years so i know all about making ponds and what not so i dont need any advice on that.
what i want opinions on is.... what shoudl i stock it with . my first inclination was perch or minnows locally cheap if not free mosquito killers and probably as fun to feed as anything else . could go catch live grasshoppers and watch them feast.
but im open to opinions there
also what you think would make a good feeder for a dempsey
me and someone talked about maybey just letting some convicts have at it with their own 100g breeding tank but i doubt i could feed off the babies fast enuff and i dunno who i would give all the offspring too. i dont want to end up with 30 6 inch convicts.
roseys are out of the question . i was thinking maybe feeder guppies and someone else said mosquito fish. oppinions??
