i have been thinking of raising guppies for feeder fish. knowing the hazards of store bought feeders i thought this would be a viable option. the only problem is i have no experience whatso ever with guppies. i have a spare 10 gallon tank i can use for this. if anyone else does this or has any suggestions i would love to hear from them.

wrong section to ask, you should try over the general section. But anyway, pretty much have 3 females to 1 male guppy and you should have a few pregnant guppies in a few weeks. Its very simple, I used to cluster breed small platy's until I just fed beef heart for the protien part of the diet. Just put some sort of plant in there for when the females are ready to give birth, remembering that they are live bearers. The other option is to buy a small breeding trap where the fry can slip through the gaps in it, into the main or other tank. But if the mother does pop out some fry she may be exhausted and hungry so she may want to eat them herself, thus the reason for a breeding trap.
hopefully this info is helpful. but breeding live bearers is quite simple. chuck them in and they'll churn them out, under the right conditions I may add. which is the filtering and heater req. etc.

it will eventually be for my blue jacks when they get a tad bigger, and when i can locate one, a green terror im going to put in my 29 gallon tank. i just moved here to southern oklahoma from california and there arent any lfs worth a darn. wallyworld is about it. im going to try out aqua concepts in ok city this weekend.
I hope that your not planning on keeping a green terror in the 29 gallon permenantly, 55 gallon minimum for a female, males are 75.
