i have a candy cane coral that i'm not sure how to feed. i've seen it's tenticles come out after lights out but i don't know how to go about feeding it. do i need to get a turkey baster and shoot brine shrimp at it? i put in some marine cuisine last night but i doubt it was able to get any of it... here's a pic...

the pic doesn't do it justice, it's neon green, i really like it and want it to grow big and strong :)

When I feed my pearl bubble I wait for the tentacles to come out and then carefully place some meaty food near it's mouth. I do use a baster but I'm careful to do it so I don't blast the coral with water. I need to get some stainless tong/tweezers instead but for now this works for me.

I have LPS dominated tanks with softies as well.
I haven't fed the corals in the 13 yrs I've been in the hobby. At least, not directly.
I feed the fish plenty, and the rest of the tanks inhabitants get fed from that or from the plankton that gets produced from those that do eat the food.

take out 1 cup of tank water.

put mysis, BW, enriched brine, etc in the water and let it melt.

turkey baste half of the water out, carful to not suck up too much of the food, just the stinky water.

with the flow ON, shoot that water in the tank, this should excite the lil buggers to open.

turn OFF your flow. suck up all the rest of the water with the food, turkey baste each polyp, leave enough excess foos so that your fish/inverts leave the coral alone.

give them 30mins to an hour to grab hold, and turn the flow back on.
