Peas!!! Mines go nuts for frozen peas, remove the skin.
I put a half dozen frozen peas in the microwave for 30 secs and then just squish them in the water in the tank. My gouramis, otos, and kuhlis will eat skin and all. My gouramis also eat the algea wafers I put in for the otos.
I crushed some frozen broccoli for them the other day, they ate that, too. Has anyone tried lima beans?

And apples, they like those,too.

Exactly. The peas go fast. Some tetras, sunfish, bullhead, Synodontis all go for them. Fish I assumed were pretty much carnivorous go for them.

Haven't tried the apples.

I'm busy. Someone please post a picture of a breakfast sausage in it's natural habitat...
