Feeding fish spinach

I'm guessing a 29g, 30 x 12 x 20 high. It doesn't "hold" that much water especially with substrate & décor.

The bad news: your pleco (unless it really an ancistrus) will out grow your tank. Can you post a pic?

The good news, if it is a "common" & you rehome it you'd have room for a group of sidthimunki loaches (dwarf chain). If it's a bristle nose you might be able to keep it & loaches too ;)

If there's spinach here, you can bet it's gonna go into a spanokopita or saag.... silly fish won't get a look in.

I would just start with a small thin slice and rubberband it to a small rock to sink it. Depnding on the size of the Pleco of course, but for smaller ones, small round slice will last several days.

When feeding spinach it should only be a treat since it has calcium-blockers. Other good fruits and veggies to try are pepper insides, celery, asparagus, cucumber, pomegranate, mango, papaya, collard greens, among others.

Since each omnivore is different they will favor different ones, for instance my Synspilum cichlid loves anything with seeds or small segments like raspberry or blackberry as well as a much favored zucchini , however my Plecos seem to prefer zucchini also, but as well as romaine, celery, asparagus, and assorted greens. Fresh dandelion greens are also on the menu for some fish.

Sinking it is the best way to do it so it doesn't get sucked into the filter while with smaller fruits or veggies they can be tossed in like pellets for those w/ mouths big enough.

For your fish it would probably be best to do a mixture of veggies w/ a few pieces of minced garlic (fish love garlic) in a blender, then pour it into ice-cube trays and freeze it into little portions. Lots of recipes for making your fish foods and how-to, the choice is yours

Awesome! Thank you! Garlic! I would have never imagined that fish love garlic!

most definitely ...the 1st thing I look for when I buy PowerBait for fishing is garlic scented.....they ddo it with plastic lures too....garlic scenting has become HUGE in the fishing industry and I also keep a good supply of minced garlic or garlic bulbs around the house for any reason I deem needing it

Interesting and good to know. Garlic is just an all around good food; good for so many things.

Man, you guys are making me hungry with all the garlic & spinach talk! Now I'll be making spicy cheese rice & spinach salad, both with garlic of course. Maybe AC needs a recipes for people forum, lol. I need a saag recipe, dougall! PM me 1 please!

Back to fish & veggies! With firmer veg, if the fish ignore it try poking knife slits in it & insert pellet or wafer bits...or tiny garlic bits. They'll might learn to eat that way, several of my fish have.
