Feeding mealworms to Silver Hatchets

Can I feed my hatchets mealworms? I know they will eat bloodworms and other larva. I have a gecko too, so I already have 250 mealworms in my fridge.

I would think that the hard external shell of a mealworm would be much too difficult to digest.

when we had the hatchets in with our archers (insectivores) every once in a while a hatchet would manage to snag a mealworm. he would swim around the tank with the mealworm out of his mouth like a cigar. it was very cute, but i dont think he was ever able to actually eat it.. i think it fell out of his mouth before he could wolf it down.
