Feeding mosquito larva to fish

Not very often but yes it does get visited ocasionally. There is a water cress plantation there and it is also a popular spot for people to collect water during droughts or water supply problems during cyclones. Its just downstream of a source. I've even seen people swimming there!
And today air bubbles were pearling out of the elodea and all the hair algae in the tank. It was midday and the sun was uncomfortably bright. The pearling was so much that in some places it had a constant stream of air bubbles, almost like from a tiny air stone.

If you have too much and worry about them "growing" you can always freeze them too.

One week on, they are doing great. I have a dozen or so. I have also given a dozen to a friend. Haven't been able to count them all. Some are big with swollen bellies and dark gravid spots. Some are tiny babies, staying mostly in the elodea plant. Initially they were shy but I fed them micropellets every morning. Just a little amount to help them associate me with food. Now I've stopped feeding them but they still turn up and are very active. I've also tested the water yesterday and its reading exactly the same as tap water! Never got such perfect figures with the main tank. Even the nitrate is 0. Ofcourse, you can hardly see the other side of the tank its so heavily planted. I've got green water as well but I can't help that, it being exposed all day to sunlight. I just do 50% water change every week. I'm pretty excited to see how things go on from here.

Yes, feezing them if they multiply is a good idea. I'm sure my livebearers and angels will enjoy them. The only thing I fear is an outbreak of snail population. There are snail eggs everywhere. I've tried removing as much as possible but there must be a lot more.

Sorry, the pics are not very good. The green water makes it look much darker than it actually is.

[Edit: Oops... wrong resolution... pics too big]

even if all the snails hatch and the population explodes, if there isnt a food source to support all of them, it will quickly go back down to what it was.

Won't they finish all the plant first?
