Feeding My Oscars?

My Oscar gets a mix of the following.

Wardley's Cichlid floating pellets
O.S.I. Cichlid Pellets (floating/sinking mix)
H.B.H. Cichlid Attack
Hikari Cichlid Gold

I took all these and mixed them up in a big airtight container, shook it up, and he gets a few sprinkles a day. Loves the stuff.

I have had him since October and 2 times he has gotten some feeder guppies from a LFS and those were only as a treat, he has yet to refuse the pellets and is waiting every morning when I get up for work to get his breakfast. Gotta watch the little hellyun though as he tends to snatch up the Pleco pellets I toss in there a couple times a week at night for Kirby.

edit- Cocktail shrimp too, he gets this once ina great while and goes nuts over it. Now that I think about it, he eats anything I throw in there, and even has made a couple moves on my fingers if they were straying while doing a gravel vac, or moving around the plants he tore up before I took em out.

I feed mine mostly Hikari pellets. Once a while I feed them beef, earthworm, and shrimp. They like beef alot.

my two oscars have a mix of bloodworms, pellets and flakes. They love anything i give them though and i never know how much i should really be feeding them. How much is over feeding??? and how many times a day should i feed them????

I was feeding my oscars bloodworm and pellets on a daily basis until they were struck by hole in the head . I cured one oscar but lost the other. Since then i havn't taken up feeding my fish meat out of fear of getting hole in the head back. Is it ok to only feed them flake and pellets? I have one oscar and one Brazilianis.

Twice a day is plenty. Once in the morning and then again when you get home from work in the evening. The rule of thumb for how much to feed is to only feed as much as your fish will eat within 3 - 5 minutes. When I feed my fish, it's GONE within 3 minutes. Also, try skipping a day of feeding once a week. You don't want to feed so much that the fish are actually ignoring the food. That's a sure way to foul your water, among other things.
