I am a complete newbie. I attached green algae sheet and the fish is not eating it at all. There're 4small damsels and a dottyback, I ve read they are grazers. Anyways still trying to cycle my tank so they are new, maybe that's the problem. This is their first week in the tank and I got this Cycle product with nitrifying bacteria to help get through...ammonia still in check, I am syphoning food leftovers on the gravel and trying to keep clean. Feed 1ce a day. I still dont change powerhead/pump foam filters, for the sake of the bacteria, however I think the foam should be washed once in three days? or more often? :read:

Not a good idea using foam, nitrate buildup but should be washed every 2-3 days. the fish you have will feed on mysis.

Dottybacks are planktivores, and probably won't touch algae. I agree that mysis is good, or any other small, meaty food. Mine also eat flakes and pellets.
