feeding question.

Ok this may seem like a silly question, I live in a coastal town and work on the gulf, I get fresh shrimp, squid, etc off of shrimp boats almost every day. Is it ok to feed these to my meat eating fish or should I stick to the stuff That you buy at the LFS? I would think the fresher the better but are there any hidden risks?

this would be acceptable. since the squid and shrimp are from tropical areas, it would be okay. however, i would make sure that there are no parasites and that they are all being harvested from clean water before even attempting to do so. i assume this is for people to eat? If there is a way for you to grab any after it is inspected and deemed good enough to people, that would be a lot better/safer. although, your fish will need to be fed more than this to have a balanced diet.

Oh, I know I just wanted to know if it would be Ok to add to their regular diet for more variety. BTW, all the shrimp, fish, squid, etc is intended for human consumption. So it all has pass a visual inspection, on the boat and by me. :dive2:
