Feeding Ram Fry

Don't add the cories! Is your tank planted? At this point don't vaccuum the gravel either. Just change some of your water, all you want to do at this point is deal with the nitrates. Your bio filter can deal with the excess food. Don't get near the parents, let them do their job...

The free will be much stronger swimmers in no time. So, save the gravel vac for a couple of weeks. (I actually haven't vaccuumed my gravel in my main tank - there is Bolivian ram fry there - in about 3 weeks now. All is well...)

Just thought of something - how about adding an apple/mystery snail for cleanup? They do NOT multiply unless there are 2 and they are opposite sexes. You might also have those malaysian trumpet snails in your gravel - those little ice cream cone things? Well, those guys are great a multiplying quickly and eating up extra food.

The fry are gone this morning, I guess either I made the parents too nervous or as it is their first spawning they got it wrong. Hopefully they will spawn again soon.

Yeah the tank is pretty heavily planted. The idea about snails is a good one, I will order some nerite snails (I have these in my other tank, they look nice and do a good job).

The main reason I was worried about fouling the water is because the tank only finished it's fishless cycle a few weeks back so not sure the filter is mature enough to handle the extra load, but will not bother with gravel vac'ing next time. The rams spawned pretty much as soon as I added them.
