Hello,

I was having an algae bloom, I put 4 Turbo snails in the tank and they cleaned everything very very well. Now they have died off, I think from starvation. I want to add one to keep the tank clean but don't want to starve it to death. I tried setting one on a sheet of "Sea Veggies" and it moved off the sheet, also clipping the sheet to the side of the aquarium. Any suggestions? Thanks

Joe

They will usually eat it eventually. Keep trying it and see what happens.

I will add, however, that Turbo snails are actually from temperate waters and don't particularly do well at tropical temperatures. They usually live much shorter lives in higher temps. Edit: I recommend you try Trochus and Stomatella snails. Astrea are a good choice as long as there aren't significant stretches of sand, as they are unable to right themselves like the previous two.
