Will Tangs eat Nori? Seems economical, and you could cut off a strip and clip it in the tank for the Tangs. Anything else? Spinach?

Yes, tangs love nori, it is the #1 thing you should feed them. I would not feed SW fish terrestrial plants though like spinach or lettuce because obviously they don't eat those in the wild. Plus most terrestrial plants contain all kinds of chemical fertilizers which are not good for the fish.

Go to your local Oriental market and buy the nori typically used to make suchi. In my market, this in found in the “Japanese” isle. Ideally you will want to buy non roasted. The only one that is non roasted in my market is this one:

You get about 25 sheets for $3.99. I feed my three tangs half a sheet a day.

Wow! Price has gone up since I last purchased one. Used be $7.00/100 sheets. What I used to get was lot greener (bright green) than one shown above.

My Yellow and poweder blue tangs love that stuff! watch out for any that may contain preservatives which could be bad!

Wakame is much nicer to work with. It sinks right away.
