feeding too much?

Feeding schedules should also be dependent upon the age and conditions of the tank. My tanks are all very well established and therefore have a good coating of "stuff" on the surfaces, which the fish are constantly nibbling. A bit of algae is also good to have, as are plants.

My fishies have been on this sort of a feeding plan for a good three years now, and all is very healthy. In fact it seems that the sparse feeding has done more to promote my fishes' health than detract from it.
 
so could anyone tell if that plant is aquatic because i did a water chagne again and it still reads ammo 1 but the nitrates went down to 0-5ppm

It's an aquatic plant. Ludwigia is my best guess. A clearer pic is better.
 
i just did another water changemore than i ever have done and the ammo didnt even move? its still 1?
 
hey lupin i have a better pic of that plant for an ID i find it hilarious that almost every type of fish i have tried gettin in the pic too

You can always take that plant out of the wool and pot, and pot it in your gravel so the roots can grow out more.

I keep Discus and Angelfish. they are in water 82-84 F and get fed atleast once per day.
discus are foragers and as a result should be fed several small feedings per day..it's their nature to forage for food.
also in warm water their metabolism is faster than a fish in cooler water.if you keep breeders they need food to keep pace with their needs as the spawn. so they to get daily feedings spiked with higher protein foods.

Ditto, to the above and if you are raising juvenile discus you could be feeding as much at 6 - 12 times a day depending on your WC routine. I raise my babies on at least 8 - 10 feeds a day.

Blood worms should be fed only as a treat to most fish, they can cause constipation problems. I have many juvenile & nocturnal (most really crepuscular) fish & feed once or twice a day most days.
If you're having water quality problems less food & waste will help. Try half the food or half as often. It will help to drain the thawed food in a net before feeding, you don't want to add to the problem with the "juice".
