I have 6 zebra danios atm and when I put a flake in they touch it and it drops to the bottom. I crush the flakes then put it in then they eat it but then spit it out and it falls to the bottom again. Is this normal? Do they hate the food? I'm really new to this hobby stop laughing at me!

Maybe they are eating it, but you're feeding them so much they can't consume it all? If that's not the case, try another food.

Ha Ha Ha! :joke: Just kidding, that's a lagitamate question. Try crushing the flakes a little smaller, sometimes fish with small mouthes will take the food and spit it out and eat it and spit it out, untill it's small enough for them to actually swallow. Also, if they are brand new, give them a few days, some fish just don't figure out how to eat right away. Or like Omega said, they are eating, but your feeding too much. crush it small and watch reall close next time. Welcome to aquaria central BTW!!!

Yah I find my fish prefer different sizes of food. I was shocked to see a rummy-nose take a flake half its size and eat it whole! Sometimes these guys look like little vacuums.

Ty for the greets. But yeah they're eating now ty for the answers had to grind the food with my thumb.
