about two hours ago, i fed my fish the usual: color bits and blood worms for the angel oscar and discus and algae wafers for every 1 else. I was watching my fish eat when my albino shark started beating up my pictus cat who was trying to get some food. i took out the albino and put him on time out in my qt. the qt has no hood, so i went, did my homework came back and couldnt find my shark. i searched for a few minutes and then saw him all dried up on the floor a couple feet away from the tank :sad: i got my first tank almost 2 months ago and he was my first fish and i didnt mean to kill him :sad: o well, better go buy a hood.
 
These are the lessons we all must learn, often by experience. It dosen't seem fair, but in essence, he died nobily; you have learned that you need a hood, and that may save another one of your fish's lives.

I feel for you.
 
If you started 2 months ago and this is your first dead fish, you are doing better than me. I really had no idea what I was doing, and I killed a few before I got smart and really got into it.
 
sorry to hear that, must've sucked seeing it dried up.

i've killed plenty of goldfish long ago with those bowls and even last year when i was getting back into the hobby. 2 red and white comests a 2 loaches were not meant for a 20G. they lived for 6 months surprisingly and then died of a mysterious disease. my bad for making the same mistake twice. then two of my BF teters died from a fungal infections couple of months back, but everything seems to have settled now.

i want to add 3 more BF tetras, but afraid of introducing a disease or something since i dont have a Q-tank. maybe this will be a lesson learned for me?
 
Don't feel bad. I know that it has already been said but it happens to all of us at one time or another. At least this is a problem that can be fixed. Chalk it up to experience. Lesson learned.
