Had an overstocked 20, was planning on 90g upgrade. However I must wait for my dad to get back from Iraq so he can reinforce the floor boards before setting it up(very old house) just to be safe, and thats not for another 4 months.

So I went the cheapest route and got a complete 29 set up that I can sell later on.

I put a jurupari, an angel, a featherfin and a rainbow shark in the 29.

A featherfin, angel and farawella remain in the 20.

I seperated the angel and featherfins because of aggression, mainly from overcrowding.

However..they look so damned lonely lol.

Should I put them all in the 29 or keep them seperated? When size was not an issue, aggression was minimal.

Also, the fish in the 29 are acting surprisingly scared and unsure of the tank. I expected the stress from being transferred would make them uneasy for a bit but they are acting like they just took a 30min bumpy ride of a LFS to a new tank.

Params and temp are indentical in both tanks, and I put most of the old decor in the new one. Just new tank jitters or should I be worried?

Also, none of the fish in the 29 are eating yet, the remaining are eating normal.

what are the water params of the 29? ammonia/nitrite/nitrate? could be a cycle stressing them out.

Both are 0, 0 18-20ish. Temp is 78. I also added a lot of the water from the 20 to the 29. I know most of the bacteria resides on decor and filter media, but it made me feel better anyhow, and I just wanted things to be as similar as possible.

I used the method on the Newbie Forum. I used a filter catridge that has been in my 20 for about 2 weeks, slapped her in the 29 and added the fish as the forum said to do. So far readings are fine, first thing tomorrow I will re-check ammonia etc.

Just a bit worried. The featherfin and rainbow seem fine, the Jurupari and angel seem to be sluggish and not hungry.

Featherfin as in knife? you gonna need more like 700G for that sucker, I believe they get 4-5 foot and can weigh quite a bit, somthing to think about

Haha no no, featherfin as in synodontis euruptus(sp).

Ah, I was concerned,

Well the Jurupari has a huge mound of sand under him(lol, I love that thing) so he's obviously been sifting.

They must be adjusting, I just went down and when I turned on the light, both were swimming mid level, but when the light came on they quickly sank to the bottom and didn't move, so must be jitters.

As far as speration, should I keep them seperated or will the 2 groups be ok until they can all go back to the 90?
