Female betta tank swap question?

Ok here is the situation;

I have a 10 gallon tank that housed 4 Female Bettas. One of the four jumped out of the tank last week and died. Now another female betta has died. This one however was always the low fish on the totem pole, and was picked on and was always a runt (only about 1.5 inches whereas the other two are two full inches). The only problem here is that this tank is not located at my current location, its at my Mothers house, so I can only check on it once or twice a week at the most. Now, I have not gotten over there since the betta died (my mother reported it to me) to check the water parameters.

Now I have a 36g tank as mentioned in previous posts and am working to start a Nitrogen Cycle with 4 Zebra Danios. Would it be a poor decision to take the Bettas from their 10 gallon at my mothers house and introduce them to my 36G tank at home, so I can keep an eye on them? Or would the whole situation (moving them from an established tank to a tank that will be cycling shortly) be too stressful for them? If I do move them, and the water parameters test O.K. I will also take the Filter Media from that tank and put it in my new 36g to speed up the Cycle.

What do you guys think I should do?

I think it will be all too stressful for the fish, but at the same time the benefit of having them right at home to be able to observer and such might be a good thing.

Also my tank has no decor at all... just sand so far...

If you move the decor also from the tank at your moms that should help some too with the cycle.

I would wait for other responses...but IMO the move to the 36g at home would be a better choice. If you move the media and decor and keep an eye on the water perimeters, doing water changes as needed...I would think it would be ok. Again this is just MY opinion.

BTW, I thought I was the only one to have a FM betta jump (found mine in time and she is fine), but it freaked me out! Actually she landed on my 5yo's coat and when she went to pick her coat up she was like ..."Mom theres a fish on my coat" LOL, yeah it was odd as I didn't know they would jump.:)
 
Yeah I think I will introduce them to the new tank, I found out that the fish is not dead. Just not eating or swimming much... I will investigate when I go home later. I think I will put the female by herself in a 1 gallon I have and medicate if necessary. Thanks for the input.

they should be fine being moved my female also jumped out and died I know better know althought my male has never tried to jump out I guess its just the female bettas they should be called Jumping Fish
 
Alright so far they are sitting in their cups getting acclimated... I'm going to release them shortly and then go to bed.... hopefully they will be a OK in the AM. I went home to get them and the one female was dead afterall... poor thing.

I feel bad for my females, the dominant female is as pale as can be with those horizontal lines... poor fish.

Anyhow, I'll keep you all posted :D
