would a female betta fit in with my community tank?
since i know so well that once all your fish are established in your tank, newcomers are hard to be accepted in the tank...
so since i barely started stocking my tank 1 week ago, i can still add some fish...

heres my current list in my 29g
8 bloodfin tetras
1 blue paradise
5 blackskirts
3 zebra danios
and 1 lone feeder guppy

also, im having a 350g acrylic tank being made, so all my fish in my 40g will be going to the 350g, and all my fish in my 29g will be going into the 40

im talking about 1 or 2 months away (100% going to happen though)

I think the tetras and guppies would pick on her or the betta gal will tear them up..usually bettas are not friendly on the playground...if you attempt it, have a back up plan...i know my girls are more vicious than the boys but they are all different

Honestly, I'd be worried about the paradise fish. Bettas and gouramis are not known to play nice with each other. You could try it with a back up plan if it doesn't work out.

wow Im so glad to learn daily! didnt know blue paradise was a gourami ...and I so agree they would be at war constantly ...

thanks for the info, i wont be trying that any time soon...maybe since my 29g will be empty ill do a group of only female bettas, maybe 5 of them and have it heavily planted

man, if any of you think you have mts, just wait until you get your own place lol

Yeah, betta sororities are really nice. IMO a 29 is a good size for one.

And I don't have my own place but MTS never rests :P even the thought of moving all my tanks this summer doesn't deter me from considering/looking at more.

Betta + Paradise = All Hell breaking loose...

Betta sorority tanks are great, specially when you have all different colours, reds, blues, yellows, cellophanes, etc... Lot nicer than a lone male in a tank.
Lots of plants & some caves/rocks be nice for them.

Throw live mosquito larvae in to give them some fun too :P
