BUT it has enough red it would be an easy mistake to make

a lot of female convict have this red belly and thats one way to tell its a female. My blue convict has a red belly almost as red as this one. Another female. If anything he could have asked if it was a crossbreed. as far as I know is not. it was a $1.99 convict from the LFS.

Knowing stuff and not contributing anything more than smart alick comments isn't helping the community; and this is definately not the first time he's done so.
The fact he is trying to get a rise warrants the labeling of a troll. That is what trolls do; try to cause trouble. Some new aquarist might take what he says as truth; you never know.
If he could add some helpful advice to the "jokes" I wouldn't have a problem brushing them aside, but, the fact is he doesn't.

The smilies are there for a reason. i won't re-type the whole sticky, but we can't see your face when you post. if you are joking, please let us know by use of smiley or at least use these () to denote your demeanor. As we all know...this is totally up to the moderators to bring this to the attention of the admin. If they care about their message boards enough they'll do something about it. If not....then people will leave, such as Optix, as you just reminded us.
In any case, let's not allow posts to bother us. We all come here to exchange useful info. If someone is being immature, ignore him/her and notify a moderator.
This is a really nice site.
Everyone here is quite friendly and more than willing to share what they know! Seeing negative stuff like this is disappointing.
