Female Guppy: How long on the fry and when should i trap my female?

Well, she definitely no wheres near giving birth in a few days.

It would be a good idea to get more ideas. And i urge you, PLEASE resist putting her in a breeding trap!
truthfully, females are more likely to eat the fry then males. It is natural process that all female livebearers do to reduce the amount of fry, so that some have a better chance of surviving. And generally, having every single fry survive isn't the best thing ever either. Think about it... One female gives birth about 10-12 times a year. And each batch is about 20 babies. yearly, that means you can get up to 200+ babies! I don't think you really want that many, do you?
well i've been talking to a lot more people on this o:
and some are even saying tonight o:
>< i got hulled into putting her in with a plant. so she's been in there for about a half hour and she looks alot more calm :< but i just took her out :<

i've got a better picture of her now if it helps anyone::

aaannd....my male is chasing her around again.
i guess in a way it was kinda good because it gave her a chance to rest? /retarded

try setting up a small fry tank with a sponge filter and small heater. you are going to need to separate the fry anyway, so you might as well have the female give birth in the rearing tank. plus, breeding traps are way to stressful on the females and can cause them to drop their fry prematurely or not at all.

i have no extra tank right now to do that :<
or else i would.
i guess she's about 2 weeks away :< so by then i'll hopefully have contact with that person and get some guppy grass. then she can have the fru right in the tank and they will have a place to hide. i'll be completely fine with all of this just as soon as i get my guppy grass :<

and to top off my day i ordered a water test kit and some prime online about a week ago and the order form online said it was supposed to arrive today so i stayed home all day waiting for it and it never came :<
and i'm not gonna be home tomorrow ><

I can guarantee you that she is not gonna pop for a while. Her belly is squared off. You have time.

aww shes pretty, she got a way to go yet few more weeks, here are some signs u gonna have babies coming my female would hide in the plants an really kept herself to herself an at one point she was resting on the plant also her breathing watch her gills nearer to birth they tend to breath a bit erratic like shes struggling to breath and watch out for black swimming eyes :) good luck

The tank my guppies are in is plastic planted but I've floated some live low light plants on the top that are leafy and make a nice "nest." It's better to let nature take its course because you don't want hundreds of guppies in your tank. My swordtails in there usually have one or two survivors per birth and it helps with population control. My other tank has a killifish in it and he helps with population control. Only a few per birth survive there too.

she has already O:
just for the last day or so. after i made this thread.
her eyes aren't completely black though. i think i might estimate it 1.5 weeks to go now, looking at her.
She's keeping to herself now, my male has stopped chasing her night and day, once a little now.
she's starting to breath more heavily too and not really resting on stuff yet though.

hmm well i have someone sending me some guppy grass tomorrow and it'll be here thursday O:
[not the same person you might have seen me talking about before]
but i'm getting guppy grass from them too. So i plan on letting alot of it just free float around the top of my tank and probably get 3 more females saturday because i went to the store today to get them and they said the shippment was delayed until saturday.
[or i'll try another store lol]
