i feel kinda bad keeping my caudopunctatus in a 10g. they seem like they need a little more space than that. i want to put them in my 30g, but there are some multies in there right now and as most of you have heard by now, there are 5 fry that are being tended to by a pair in the corner. this sofar has been there second and only successful spawn. im afraid that if i put the puncts in with them, that the multi fry will be eaten. can they fend for themselves, and will the parents protect them? or are they pretty well screwed if the puncts go in?

NOTE: the male punct is a beast. that is why they went in the 10. when he gets territorial, he rips scales off.

Both can be very territorial buggers i believe the Multi's will prevail though because to me they seem like littler terrors on fins.. i would't do it..

ok. theyll have to stay in that 10g by themselves then. the multies will be going back into there 10g soon when im sure that it is cleaned out all the way.

Cool deal Austin BTW my caudopunct's bred again and i was able to pull the shell with the fry and place them in a safe haven for now..

I think i have like 50 or more fry ..

im trying to get mine to spawn. so far its unsuccessful though...

Breeding left and right with these guys and i am down to just two (1 Pair) out of 7..

Did they kill each other?

I really dont know i would assume that the lelupi or the cylindricus killed them there getting pretty nasty aye.. later buddy..

do you know of anything i can do to help induce spawning

wow now that is a toughy aye as for mine they are hard to tell from male and female no differences i can see.. just make sure there are plenty of shells along with sand for the digging efforts weekly water changes and good ol quality of hard water..
