Feral Fish Finds

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's website ( http://myfwc.com/fishing/Fishes/non-native.html ), we have the following exotic species established in the state:
Black Acara
Blue Tilapia
Brown Hoplo
Bullseye Snakehead
Butterfly Peacock
Clown Knifefish
Common Carp
Grass Carp
Jaguar Guapote
Mayan Cichlid
Midas Cichlid
Oscar
Spotted Tilapia
Suckermouth Catfishes (Pterygoplichthys sp, Hypostomus sp)
Swamp Eel
Walking Catfish

I've also personally caught Jewel Cichlids, Guppies and Pike Topminnows. I've seen pictures of several locally caught Pacu and one Piranha (I don't know the species). Also, saltwater divers have been reporting Clownfish, Lionfish and other "unusual" fish, especially on the Keys reefs. Don't even get me started on reptiles and mammals. Florida's natives are screwed.

there are heaps of danios in my dam becouse my ones spawned so i put all the babies in there
Don't release exotics - period! Even something as apparently harmless as danios willl compete with something native, if they survive. Aren't you from Australia? Ever heard of rabbits, cane toads, feral cats, rats, brumbies, red foxes or any of the other myriad non-native species that are f*ing up Australia's ecology? Jeez - learn from the past.

its like a dam about as big as a pool table on my front lawn it has koi in it every where
If it's not connected to natural waterways, I retract my rant.

how long does a feral animal have to live in an area before its natural?

example, in austrailia, the dingo was introduced originally as a domestic dog about the same time that the australian natives (aboriginies? (sp?)) came to the continent... they are now concidered a native animal... but im shure they caused havoc while they spread as well...
no what im gettin at?

yer mate, like 3000 years ago they introduced those dingos and they rivaled the australian wolf to extinction and then they took over their role, so when the white blokes came around they had never seen the dingo and so called it native to australia.
they are also beleived to be resposible for the extintion of a smaller species of emu, of which they have found fossils of.
A bit of australian history for you, fair dinkum true blue like a kangaroo put another shrimp on the barbie mate
oh yeah and monkey toes your right i should have said that origanally but thanks for caring
