Is FLOURISH okay with shrimp? It has VERY little copper amounts so I don't know..

OhNo123:

My experience is very limited with shrimp.

Approximately 3 weeks ago I purchased 100 crystal red shrimp (Grade C) and am raising them, for now, in two 5G planted (floating plants only) tanks. These were "little bitty devils" when they showed up and were only large enough to be visible.

The tanks are being dosed with 1.5 times the recommended quantity of Flourish and Flourish Excel but the recommended quantity of Flourish Iron.

The plants and the shrimp are "growing like crazy".

BTW:

I am feeding my shrimp mostly (twice per day) some of my home made recipies but also Tetramin Tropical Flakes (once per day).
I occassionaly, once per week, substitute brine shrimp for the home made recipies.

Remember, shrimp folks kill their shrimp without any plants or adding any ferts.....quite easily for reasons totally unrelated with anything due to plants.

Correlation does not = cause, yet many aquarist seem very smitten with this assumption. It's very much like believing in circumstantial evidence and and convicting people based on reasonable doubt in a court of law, not proof.

Does not stop the myth makers, who sometimes are smart enough to know better.

Remember, do not believe everything you think.:wall:

This same line of reasoning is sometimes applied to fish only folks who worry over ferts or CO2.
