Festivum? In MY tank?

...Well, I'd like to.
My 40 set-up is in my signature. I am going to overhaul it a bit and switch some fish around, but I wanted to add a major centrepiece to it. Fests are adorable and fairly mild-mannered, from what I've read, so I thought I'd go that route.
The question is, which of the fish in my tank currently are incompatible with a Fest? The White Clouds will be leaving the scene soon and the Pygmy may get its own tank, so no worries there.
Also, what do I have to watch out for, plant-wise? I have a lot of Limno. sessiflora, a full lotus, some anubias, crypt. parva, LOADS of java moss, and some random bits of rescue plants. I'm willing to move things around, but is there anything the Fest will just utterly destroy?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice!

Not a great mix with the Blue Gourami IMO. They are great fish though! :) Mine has alternated between shredding every plant and not touching any so I can't really guide you there. As long as the plants continue to grow, they should be fine with some damage.

By the time a Fest enters my tank, the white clouds will be gone.
They don't get along with gouramis? I've seen so many cichlid tanks include gouramis.. are they doing it wrong?

IMO, Gourami should not be mixed with larger cichlids. They tend to occupy the same areas of the tank and are both semi-aggressive. Maybe a pearl, but I definitely wouldn't try a Blue with a Festivum.

Wouldn't mix large cichlids with gourami (with the exception of kisser and giant) because most of the time the gourami can't handle the aggression.

I agree, I could definitely see some head butting going on.

...Aren't Pearls and Blues (or in my case, opaline) both Trichogaster Trichopterus?
