Festivums

Hi, I have Festivums waiting to go into my SA setup (currenty in QT).

However, speaking to someone last night who insists they will be far too agressive; claims he had them in with young Oscars and the Oscars were shredded.

Any thoughts?

I was more worried about the lone Angel already in there and how it would react to the Festivums?

How large were his oscars and festivums? You have to admit he has a point albeit cichlids have varying personalities.

Normally festivums are among the most docile of the non-dwarf cichlids, right there with angels in that category. They typically fit in well with other not so aggressive SA cichlids (geos, sevs, chocolates, etc.)

Festivum are not very aggressive.. not entirely passive...they can hold thier own in a tank with more boisterous mates. but in general a good community fish..I would worry about neons in the same tank tho.

The aquarium near me has a great display of festivums and angels, probably a few dozen of each, didn't look like there was any issue with aggression. I've never kept them personally though.

thanks, thats what i thought - consensus is typical cichlids on the lower end of the agression scale?
