Im Back...! Anyway lol, couple of questions. I set up my SW tank and I'm going to start cycling tommorow with ghost shrimp and a damsel. Para's are good. My question is is I have an Aqua Clear 110 Filter in my 10 G SW Tank will that be okay? Too much? What do you think? Also I have LR in my tank but I also have Fiji Rock can anyone tell me about that?

Well I have 6 lbs of LR, and about 15 lbs of aragonite sand. So should I continue with a fishless cycle or can I go ahead with the fish cycle? I dont mind doing a fishless cycle if I need to

I would recommend fishless. That is how I do my tanks. I use the raw shrimp method in the link I posted and both salt tanks were ready to start stocking within 10 days.

Don't try the seahorse rout until you've had other SW fish, they are rather difficult for a beginner to SW to handle. I wouldn't try them and I've been in this hobby for just under a year. I would go with a clown goby, a firefish, and a few snails.

Highly reccomend the fishless cycle as well. And I agree the shripm probably won't make it through,

The 110 is a great HOB filter for a simple tank and is not too big for your tank. Just get into the habit of taking it off and completely cleaning it every couple weeks along with your weekly water change. Another option is to modify the filter into a small refugium. Lots of threads online on how to mod Aquaclears. Good thing is you don't have to buy/add anything to do this mod other than a light for the macro algae. The 110 will also add some nice flow to the tank along with powerhead(s).

Figi rock is just a reference to where the rock was collected. Any rock can become "live" it's just that some are better than others in terms of porisity and surface are and some rock just shouldn't be used in a marine tank.

Seahorses aren't necessarily difficult if you setup the tank right and get healthly specimans. The tough part is they need to be fed a lot and often and water quality control can be challenging (especially in a small tank). Reccommend tank bred specimans from www.seahosesource.com (great people, checkout their website). Dwarfs are a bit tricky though and other seahorses will just get too big for a 10 gallon.

Thanks FF!
