fighter fish

Sure, I had one in a 29g for a year.

Then he picked a fight with the rainbow shark, and lost rather badly.

But still, it was a peaceful year up until that point.

If they're fancy guppies (the ones with the big tails), your males might be in for it, bettas will mistake them for other bettas sometimes.

I had a couple different bettas in my 29 community @ different times. It all depends on tank mates and also each fishes personality....I had a yellow betta in the tank and one of my angels constantly chased him and nipped his fins. However, when I put my purple betta in there, the angel didn't even give him a second glance.
Your best bet is to put him in and watch carefully to see what happens. It may work, it may not!

Good luck!! :)

i agree with roper930. but i must add that it all depends on your Betta's personality too.

i mean some Bettas truly know how to enjoy big spaces, some just stick to the top and don't move around much.

as mentioned by the rest, try it out 1st. watch for a few hours or a few days to see how he likes it and how his tank mates treat him.

Yessss!

I decided to take a chance and get a betta. I got a beautiful blue and red male betta. After i released him into my tank i sat and watched him for an hour to see if he got on. My angels didn't like him at first but its been a couple of days now and he is doing amazing. He swims around the whole tank having the time of his life and my angels don't take any notice of him what so ever. His best mate is my rainbow shark he sits next to him underneath a bit of driftwood in the tank! He sets of my tank really nicely.
