I think that's what it's called. It's only on the glass and I have to clean it off daily. Read that it may be caused by excessive light, but I only have 55 watts over my 29 gal tank. Could indirect sunlight be a contributing factor? Although no light hits the tank directly, the room is definitely quite sunny in the afternoon. Thanks.

what color is this algae? Yes, I am aware it is probably green.. is there a particular shade of green? A picture would be most excellent. :)

Yes, shall try to send a picture, but have to wait a day or two. Cleaned the glass right after posting my question! But if this helps, the algae seems to match the color of the 1.0 reading on the API test card. Also, just tested my tapwater and found that it has a phosphate level of 1.0.

What kind of bulb and how long is your light on???

I meant the "K" rating. 6500K, 6700K, 10000K, ect.

10hrs not too bad.

PS---How many plants and what kind do you have??

It's 6500. I have wisteria, parrot's feather, java fern, riccia, and rotala macranda. Just turned down the temperature, which had been roughly 82 deg for some time. Read somewhere that film algae likes high temps.
