Priming the filter is under Step 7.

Note, under the last step "G" – During the 2 minutes waiting time, I usually also tilt the canister itself all around to get out more air.
 
thank you so much for that link it helped a lot and we discovered the top basket was upside down but we are now up and running so once again thanks :clap:
 
For any interested, the next time you have the filter apart for cleaning, look at where the latches latch onto the head unit (where the motor is). You'll see a screw head at each location. If you unscrew these screws, you'll find that the top of the head unit comes off (it's a solid 1 piece of plastic) to reveal the motor sealed onto the lower half of the head unit (also a solid 1 piece of plastic). When the o-rings leak, they fill up this area and since the cord is the lowest point of exit, the water flows out there. Please, if you do this, do NOT have Hercules screw the screws back in and crack the top piece ;)
