Anyone ever bought a filter for a water line going back into your tank to take the chlorine out at the hardware store? Some of the de-ionizers seem to be expensive at the lfs. If so what kind are you using? How much was it and are the filter replacements reasonable. How many gallons are they filtering?

they all have different ratings.. as in GPD gallons per day.. some have as little as 5 gallons all the way up to a couple 100.. the price is also on that too. i dont think theres a difference in filters at the LFS and your home depot.. but you have to check the quality.. most of the LFS sell kent or other well know companies.. :/... the replacements go for about 20-50 depending on what type of membrane.

how do you have puffers and clownfish in the same tank?

Thanks for the info. I've had a tomato clown (about 4'') and my 2 puffers(about 6'') in the same tank for over a year with no problems. Now problems between the puffers at feeding time, thats a diff story.
