Filter for 37 gallon, is Penguin 350 overkill?

Heck, if you can fork for an Eheim, do it. Next year I'm replacing most of my Emperors and Penguins with Eheim 2026s and better. I have an Eheim and an Emperor on all my 75gs and the Eheims are just a better filter, IMO.

It's not the price.. I can get the 2213 for $69.95 from petsmart.com and a 15% online coupon. So it's not much more for what you're getting. The problem is fitting something 13" high. I'm not using a standard stand. If I did, I'd be getting a 55 gallon.. probably. (I got this 37 gallon new for about $10)The idea was to try to set the tank up for as close to $100 as possible. So far, if I count the emperor and Aqualight, the setup is $135. The Eheim would take me to $170... but then I would need a new stand.. which would take me to $275 for that proce I could get another 55 gallon.
Which seems like a deal, but it's not going to work politically in the house. The 37 is already pushing it.
