Filter for a 30 gallon planted tank

So i have been going through HOB filters like its my job. Which is the best one?? Also, would picking an oversized filter help in a planted tank and get clogged less? Should I try a canister filter? If so, how much are they and what type should I try? What are my options?! This is driving me crazy

I have a 30 gallon heavily planted community tank. I have an aquaclear 70 and it has served me well. I can't wait til I have the money to replace all my filters with aquaclears! I've only used HOB though. So, I can't speak to cannisters.

do you inject co2? if so you might want to go for a canister filter because the HOB will gass-off a bit of teh co2.

i am looking into getting a marineland c-220 or a used eheim 2217 canister filter for my 30 gallon medium-heavily planted tank.
