filter frustration

I too had a problem with the propeller on mi penguin 200, the flow was too low and it would make noises too loud to allow me to sleep. So i decided to order a rena xp1 canister for mi 26 gallon. it should be here by friday, so i'll tell you how it works.

Yes. Please. Thanks! Good luck.

Or, if I get the Marineland, is it okay to get the one that goes up to 55 for my 55?

You can always buy clear hoses. As for the Marineland, I'd buy one rated for a tank slightly larger than the one you have. In other words, you have a 55, so I'd probably get one rated for a 75. The ratings on the box are best-case scenarios, and the "real" flow is usually less. Plus you'll have the benefit of extra filtering power, which is almost always a good thing.

The Eheim is $93.99 for the up to 93 gallon filter.

The Marineland is $119.99 for up to 55 gallon and $159.00 for up to 100 gallons.

This makes me paranoid. I don't want to overpay, but I don't want a bad filter.

I'm shopping around and I'm thinking the Eheim is a good deal.

Either filter is a good one, so I wouldn't worry about that. :headshake2:

If it were my purchase to make, I'd go for the Eheim: great filter, more than adequate for your tank. :thm:

It seems like a really good deal compared to everyone else. I had one in my hands today, but I didn't get it. This is a much better buy.

I just don't want to flood my room if a hose breaks loose.

I read too many scary threads. :grinyes:
