I have a 750 gal pond with an algae problem and I am shopping for a new filter. I have found several with UV lights. I am curious if the pressurized systems have any benefits or pitfalls. Looking to spend not more than $400 for filter system and new pump. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Desire to put Koi in pond. Thanks.

I was not big on pressurized filters ,But I have had a great response with a filter called,Bioforce.
I think with the size of your pond the bioforce 2000 with uvc.
Would work great for your application.
I owen two and I nomaly do not give places to buy things.
But linda at ponds2go.com has been one of the best places I have been.
I hope this has been of some help.
PS:750gal is not enough room for koi sorry.
For koi 1500 plus is better for koi.
Koi need a lot of room to grow like they should.

Algae is often worse when temperatures fall and biofiltration is ineffective as bacteria are less active at water temps of 55 or less. Best bet is to reduce feeding and reduce sunlight. Cover plants like water lily help shade water, but tend to die back in cold weather. Reduce feeding, for fish do not digest well in cold temps either. Less food = less ammonia = less algae.
