Filter Media

So I just bought a corner filter for my tank, was wondering if I can just use purigen? or does it have to have carbon or other media in it?

The tank has a nice tannin look to it, but kind of want to have clear water now since its more appealing next to the oddly color wall paint color my landlord put up.

Anyways, would purigen be good by itself? or should I have biomax with it?

If your going to run purigen no need for charcoal except when filtering out med's. If thats going to be the only filter on the tank you'll want some foam/floss in it as well, but if this filter is just for polishing a bag of purigen alone is ok.

Definitely should have sponge or floss, then the Purigen to adsorb the dissolved organics.
