Anyone know why a HOB filter would not come one (not even making noise) after a water change. We didnt clean the flter or anything...we unplugged it before taking out any water ?? Its only about 6 months old

First, the obvious, did you plug it back in, and if you are using a strip, is the strip turned on and plugged in?

Take your filter apart, rinse it, then put it back together, impellor and all...

What kind of filter is it?

Yes to all the above...i will try that...its a top fin i believe it came with a 29 gallon kit. This hapened last time we dd a water change but it came back on as he lifted it up to look at it better.

You may can wiggle the impellor housing a bit and it will come back on. Your impellor probably needs to be cleaned. They are magnetically driven and the magnet on the impellor may not be making good "contact"..in simple terms..

IME, many HOBs start better if you fill the chamber with water before turning them back on. If there's no water around the impeller, it won't be able to start a suction. Could this be the problem?
