Filter Quest. for 2.5g tank

Hi,
I set up my sons 2.5 gallon tank today. I didnt want to use the undergravel filter, so I took it out and bought a hang on one at the store. The only thing they had for a small tank was this Dynflo, 10 gallon. It says it pumps up to 120 gallons per hour. The guy at the store sais it would work fine. I put it on the tank and it seems like it moves the water around alot. Do you think this is to much water movement for such a small tank? Should I go ahead and keep it, look for another smaller filter, or just use the undergravel filter? I bought a betta for the tank that my son loved at the store but now that he is in the tank flarring, he does not want to sleep in his room tonight . I think the betta is seeing his reflection since the lights in the room are off but the tank light is on. I may end up getting the white cloud minnows for him. He also seen a drawf frog he wanted. I am guessing I need to wait for the frog until after the tank cycles, right?

As far as the filter goes on my 2.5 gal I run the penguin mini. It works great because you can adjust the flow rate to almost nothing, making it perfect for a betta.

Try an Aquaclear 20. Use 2 sponges in the basket. GREAT filters!

I'm not sure about the Dynaflow, I've never used one. I have an Aqua-tech 5-15 on my 10g and can't imagine trying to use it in a 2.5g - it creates quite a bit of current. If the Dynaflow is comperable, it may be too much.
I'm using a Red Sea nano filter on my 1g pico. It's the teeniest HOB filter I've ever seen and works well. It's rated for up to 3g and comes made of black or clear plastic. You can order them from Big Al's online , and some stores carry them - I had to call around to find one. The smallest AquaClear (maybe set to low-flow) should also work.

I baught a "mini-bow 2.5" (a little 2.5 gallon aquarium, with lid, lighting and filter) for my beta. It came with a mini whisper filter that works perfectly.. im not sure if you can buy them seperatly. If you cant find thoes id get a penguin mini/
