I just put a new filter (top fin power filter) in my 10 gallon planted tank today with a air pump. and it seems like its blowing the water in the corner of the tank pretty bad. Is this ok for the fish or do i need to do something different. Thanks for the help.

Do you mean a power head attached to an UG filter that used to be powered by an air pump?

Answer: depends on the fish, you probably don't really need a powerhead for a 10g. If your fish look like they're avoiding areas of current, then switch back to airlift and save the powerhead for your new ???gallon down the road.

Sorry for the confusion its a top fin filter for 5-15 gallon tank and then i also have a air pump in there. they are not together. here are some pics

if you think the flow is too strong, you can put a sponge where the water comes out to slow it down. I do that on my 20 long

also, after looking at the picture closer, I would say fill up the tank more. Up to the black strip on top or higher (unless you keep it at that level for a reason)

Just fill the tank up more. If the fish are acting like they are in a wirl pool, then you may need to do something.

Thanks a lot. Its not that bad where they are in a wirl pool but i will fill it up some more and see if that helps
