Erynn, it's pretty much impossible for us to really give you an informed suggestion unless we know how the tank will be stocked, including what fish, how many of each, plants or non-planted, etc.

A 55 stocked with a couple of angel fish and some tetras will have dramatically different filtration needs than an african cichlid tank.

Let us know what you want to put in there and I bet we can give you some very specific recommendations.

Good idea 80gJoe,

I have a Filstar xP2 and Pengiun Biowheel 170 on my 60G tank. Very heavily populated, fish and plants. I have the filstar inlet down towards the bottom on one side and the penguin on the otherside towards the top. I got a couple of powerheads that keep the debris moving and one of the 2 filters will pick it up. Works for me.
