Filter stopped working...

Um I was gone and when I came back I realized my power went off. After I realized the filter wasn't on. It won't come back on and I don't know since I didn't attwend to it while I was gone, that the filter might have died. What is this crap. What do I do.

Is it a hang on back filter or canister? Check the impeller area and reassemble it to see if that helps.

9 times out of 10 all you need to do is pull the impeller out and clean it and the area it sits inside. Really should be done monthly.

Happens. when unplugged the build up won't let it start back up.

It started working on it's own. Now I feel stupid but thanks though. I do clean the filter out every couple or so times I clean the tank.

I had that happen after a water change once. Scared the water out of me.
